Dr. Duncan Matheson IV grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and would not live anywhere else!  He moved to Diamondhead in February of 1979 and went to St. Stanislaus for his high school education.  Dr. Matheson received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi and his D.D.S. degree from the University of Toronto.  He has been practicing general dentistry for five years at the Diamondhead Dental Clinic.  Prior to his dental education, Dr. Matheson worked at the Diamondhead Dental Clinic for 2 years as a Dental Assistant.

Dr. Matheson is currently serving as the President of the Gulfport dental Study Club.  He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Mississippi Dental Association.  His favorite aspect of the dental practice is the daily interaction with patients and staff.

Fishing and boating are Dr. Matheson’s leisure activities when he can get the time to relax.  Dr. Matheson has been married for 9 years to his wife Karyn, who is a part-time labor and delivery nurse.  The Matheson’s are kept very busy raising their two daughters, Hayden who is six years old and Avery who is 3 years old.

Prior to entering dental school, Dr. Matheson received a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1967 and a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State in 1969.  After working for the oil industry for four years, he enrolled in the LSU School of Dentistry and graduated with a D.D.S. degree in 1977.  He practiced general dentistry for a short time in Hattiesburg before opening an office in Picayune.  For the next 11 years, Dr. Matheson operated a general practice in hat location.  While working in Picayune, he conducted a part-time practice in Diamondhead where he and his family resided.  In 1989, the Diamondhead Dental Clinic became his primary office.  Dr. Matheson is a member of the American Dental Association and the Mississippi Dental Association.  He has practiced dentistry for 31 years.

Dr. Matheson and his wife, Dr. Sue Matheson, have lived in Diamondhead for the past 29 years.  Dr. Sue Matheson is Superintendent of Education for the Pass Christian School District, which has earned numerous state and national awards for outstanding academic achievement.  In 2003, Dr. Matheson welcomed his son, Duncan, a general dentist, as a partner into the Diamondhead office.  The Matheson's” younger son, David, is currently pursuing a MBA degree.

Dr. Jensen moved to Diamondhead in December of 2005.  He previously had a  North Oaks, MN private general dental practice from 1990 until 2005. Prior to dental school he completed a B.S. in Biological Science from Illinois State University (1972) and an M.S. in Plant Physiology from the University of Minnesota (1973). He completed his D.D.S. in 1976 from the University of Minnesota and then completed a General Practice Residency with the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. He also completed a 3-year post-doctoral program in Cariology at the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Oral Biology from the University of Minnesota in 1982. He was on the faculty of the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa dental schools teaching and conducting research until 1990. He established the Center for Clinical Studies at the University of Iowa and has published numerous articles and book chapters on dental materials and research on tooth decay (cariology).

Dr. Jensen is Board Certified (ABGD) by the American Board of General Dentistry and is a Fellow (FADM) in the Academy of Dental Materials, a boarded member of the American Board of General Dentistry, a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, , a member of the Mississippi Dental Association, and American Dental Association, a Fellow (FAGD) of the Academy of General Dentistry, an evaluator for the Esthetic Dental Research Group and editorial board member of Reality, editorial board member of the American Journal of Dentistry and the Journal of Clinical Dental Research, a diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Dentistry (DABFD), a diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Examiners (DABFE)   Dr. Jensen has given many scientific presentations and continuing dental education programs throughout the U.S. as well as in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Norway, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom. Dr. Jensen holds a patent on the resin-bonded porcelain crown and maintains a special interest in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry as well as cariology and preventive dentistry.

Dr. Jensen resides in Diamondhead with his wife of 37 years, Susan.  Susan was a grade school teacher and then dental office manager before retiring in 2005.  She serves on the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce “Beautification Committee” which is one of her passions in helping make our area attractive to all. Laura Jensen is their only child and she resides in Chicago, Illinois.  She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2001, worked for William Wrigley Jr. Co, graduated from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business with an MBA in 2007 and currently works for PepsiCo
